The Red Violin / Strength & Honor (Titus)

Performed at the Jackson Competition, Mississippi, 2002

These two solo choreographies were commissioned by Christian Laverde Koning of the
Maximum Ballet Company in Florida for performance at the prestigious Jackson Competition.
The robust solo “Strength & Honor,” a portrayal of the Roman warrior, Titus Andronicus,
propelled Koning to the finals of the competition. Koning danced “The Red Violin,” a
contemporary solo piece in the finals.
